SPIRITUAL HELPSpiritual Help: Turning Defeat into Victory! The story is told about the first reports of the invasion of France on D-Day in World War II. As the battle raged the stormy evening began to fall. Anxious eyes on the English shore were trained on that distant beach across the English Channel. Weather conditions and radio silence instructions made communication impossible. Suddenly a beacon from over there began to flash a coded message, one that brought despair to the hearts of the allies: A-L-L-I-E-S D-E-F-E-A-T-E-D… The fog rolled in at that point and communication was lost for the night. And what a night it was for those dejected military planners! Then came the morning. As the fog lifted, overjoyed people on the English shore saw what they had missed. The message? A-L-L-I-E-S D-E-F-E-A-T-E-D T-H-E Friend, could it be that you find yourself feeling helpless and losing your battle with sin? Are you listening to the voice of Satan telling you that there is no way out of your condition? And that he is the victor and you are defeated? Well, there is good news when the morning comes and the fog lifts! Because the truth is that C-H-R-I-S-T D-E-F-E-A-T-E-D S-A-T-A-N!! Satan has no power over you anymore! The Bible says that Jesus died for your sins because God loves you so much! (John 3:16). That’s right! Jesus came to seek and to save those who were lost. You and me included. Accept the Gift offered to you by God, that of salvation afforded to you through Jesus’ death on the cross. This is done by your belief in Him. The second part of the John 3:16 verse says …so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. The above paragraph contains the key to salvation and a new life for you! One that is not a defeated existence, but a glorious beginning on a new path that is filled with excitement and meaning. And through God’s blessing your life, you will be a blessing to others! If you would like to ask Jesus to give you new life but are not sure how to go about it, why not follow this prayer right here, right now: Dear God…I admit that I am a sinner and I can’t do anything about it on my own…I ask You to forgive my sin and help me to turn from things that are not pleasing to You…Based on Your promise to save me, I hereby accept Jesus as my personal savior…realizing that He took the punishment for my sin…Thank you, Jesus. If you prayed that prayer or one similar, from your heart, God heard and you are now a child of His! Why not email me and tell me you have taken this most important step! (pstrjim@verizon.net) |
